So, I've been doing family portraits for some time now, but as most things go, my best ideas come from life and my family. We were making a family photo album for each girl to have... a nice hardcover, flat lay book. My kids like most, loove photo albums. Half of the time I am not sure if they remember an event from the photo they've looked at a million times or from the actual event. Either way, there are too many memories from life that would go forgotten if it weren't for the photographic evidence. If you think back to your childhood, it's probably the same. There are events that you feel like you remember so clearly, and often it's because you had photos to help make that memory sink in...
Anyways... back to the photobooks... I've noticed this a hundred times, but finally I paid attention to it... there are some photos that my kids just can't get enough of, and some they just flip right past. The ones they can't get enough of are always the ones that are real. I have never seen them giggle or say 'remember that!' when referring to a posed photo. Don't get me wrong... beautifully posed portraits have their place. We take special time each year to do a couple of cool sessions for the girls that they get excited about and that make them feel special BUT those still tend to pale in comparison to memories from candid moments when they forgot a photo was being taken.
Because I want to give my clients work that I am passionate about and as my time is limited through shooting weddings and other photography projects, I am currently only booking organic/photojournalistic style portrait sessions for families, couples and children.
What do these sessions look like? All sessions can take place at your home or any location of your choice, or a combination. They all include ALL of the images from your session, provided via digital download. These sessions can take place first thing in the morning as your kids are getting ready for school, at bedtime, over school vacation, or at your summer home throughout the day. There is no limit to the number of people who can be present. Extended family is always welcome. Packages vary by # of hours:
1 hour of photography - approximately 50 images (1 location) $350
3 hours of photography - approximately 150 images (up to 2 locations) $720
5 hours of photography - approximately 250 images (up to 3 locations) $950
5 hours of photography as well as a 10 page (20 sided) hardcover album $1600
Packages can be customized to suit your needs and additional hours can always be added. Please contact me if you have any questions at all. firstname.lastname@example.org
